International Writers’ Day for Kids

March 3rd marks the International Writer’s Day. It is a special day to celebrate all the amazing writers from around the world and appreciate the hard work and creativity that goes into creating stories, books, and poems.

Writing has always been an exciting way to express ourselves. We can let our imaginations run wild and create amazing worlds, characters, and adventures. Writing can also be a way to communicate with others and to learn about the world around us.

There are many great authors whose stories and books have entertained, inspired and educated us. Some of my favorite children’s writers include:

  • Eleanor Estes, who wrote popular The Moffats
  • Laura Ingalls Wilder, who wrote Little House series, which has captured the hearts of millions of children and adults around the world.
  • Patricia St. John, who wrote Treasures of the Snow, Star of Light, or Rainbow Garden, books that are not only very enjoyable to read but also filled with important life lessons.

  2. Have each family member read a book by their favorite author.
  3. Write your own story as family, draw illustrations to go along and share it with your extended family and friends.
  4. Have your children participate in our Young Writer’s Contest.

In conclusion, International Writer’s Day is a day to celebrate all the amazing writers who have brought us so many wonderful stories and books. So, take some time to appreciate all the hard work and creativity that goes into writing, and try your hand at penning down your own story.
